South Lake Tahoe, CA—Sierra-at-Tahoe® Resort’s legendary Pray for Snow Party is back this year and promises to be better than ever with its return to The Hard Rock Café, even more great prizes and crazier contests.
The famous winter kick-off party will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at The Hard Rock Café, inside Harvey’s Casino in South Lake Tahoe. As the original location of the Pray for Snow Party, Sierra Resort decided to bring the event home for its 13th anniversary.
Winter worshippers will not want to miss their chance to win a 2006/07 Double Whammy® season pass in the Snowcalling contest— the flagship event of the evening. Participants are encouraged to perform their best snow ritual in the hopes that Mother Nature will hear their call and bless Lake Tahoe with a bounty of snowfall for the upcoming season. Local singers, dancers, musicians, yodelers, rappers, poets and all other talents are welcome to participate in this outrageous event, judged by local celebrities. Participants are judged on volume, audience participation and creativity.
Guests will have other chances to win loads of fabulous prizes in the Show Us Your Ink, Beer Chugging and Frozen T-shirt contests. Prizes include lift tickets, snowboards, ski/board gear donated by Powder House, gift certificates and more.
To help summon the snow gods, a Hard Rockin’ DJ will sound off the evening’s festivities.
From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., doors will open for Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort and Double Whammy season pass holders only (season pass or proof of pass purchase must be shown). The Hard Rock Café and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort will sponsor free appetizers and drinks, as a token of appreciation to all loyal pass holders. At 7 p.m., doors open to the general public. Drink specials will be offered throughout the night and dinner service will be available in the restaurant. All contests are scheduled to take place between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
