There is a little University in the heart of Colorado called the University of Colorado in Boulder. It is home to the largest snowboard team for any college in the nation and probably the world. In the fourth year of operation the CU Snowboard team is stronger than ever.

Pat A has taken the position as head coach and has returned to Colorado, the place that spawned the snowboarder that he is today. Pat has been a professional snowboarder with Ride snowboards for a decade and has been snowboarding for over twenty years. He has spent countless winters traveling to wintry zones across the globe, and summer after summer he has found himself in the snowboard never-neverland of Mt. Hood, Oregon. Now after being in charge of coaching at Windells Snowboard Camp on Mt. Hood, he is more than prepared to handle a snowboard team like CU’s.

As classes jumped into full swing the team got campus fired up by premiering their very own video, Pen 15, in the flatirons theatre on the hill. This year the organization has over 100 active team members. The shenanigans have begun and reality TV will be knocking at the door in no time.

This year the CU Snowboard team will be filming their third video throughout Colorado, Utah, Switzerland, and beyond. They will also be hosting the second annual Jib festival, heavy metal on the mountain. If you can imagine the student body that produced the infamous riots of years past combined with the prominent greek life coming together to watch one big jib festival, you might find yourself screaming “Hell Yes!! like Philip Anselmo of Pantera.

This program has evolved into more than just a team, it has become much more than that. “It’s all about sticking it to The Man as Jack Black might say. Snowboarders are now making the decision to pursue a higher education influenced by the existence of our team.

Keep your eyes pealed for all of the funny, strange, bodacious, people representing our team. There are also a number of hotshots that will be taking charge in Colorado contests and other events this year while they get the best of both worlds: school and boardin.

Thanks to all the people who have supported the team become what it is becoming. Special thanks also go to our sponsors: Ride, Wahoos, Poorboy, Cliff Bar, Bolle, 686, Dakine, and Satellite Boardshop.
