PARK CITY, UTAH ~ Friday June 11th, 2010 ~
After completing a tremendously successful first season the Park City Snowboard Academy (PCSA) is now offering a winter term option for riders looking for an elite snowboard development program for grades 6-12. “The winter term option was really popular for us last season,” says Program Director Jack Coghlan “It allows riders the option to enroll with us for just the winter and ride every day during the season while still attending their local schools in the fall and spring”. The winter term runs almost five months from the end of November to mid April.
This past season PCSA had over 17 students in attendance who competed both regionally and nationally across the country. Students participated in the Burton Global Open Series, USSA Grand Prix Series, RevTour, Intermountain Snowboard Series and USASA Nationals. PCSA students were also invited to Snowboarder Magazine’s The Launch and were privileged to have the “Frends Crew” including the Mitrani brothers, Scotty Lago, Danny Davis, and KP come and ride with them several times during the past season. Snowboarder Magazine’s Photo Editor Ryan Hughes even stopped by and held a photo shoot in January on the amazing Kings Crown Park at the Park City Mountain Resort. Park City was home to the 2002 Winter Olympics and is the current home to the US Snowboard Team.
Students at PCSA last season racked up over 100 days of shredding in the 4 terrain parks, 22′ Olympic superpipe and the lightest powder in the world at the Park City Mountain Resort. A typical day for students starts with shredding from 9am-1pm, heading down for lunch and then hitting study hall from 2-6pm during the week. When not competing, students ride all day on the weekends.
A Commitment to Excellence: The Park City Snowboard Academy is proud to be a non-profit academy offering an elite snowboard training program along with academics to the country’s finest up-and-coming riders.
