Ludlow, VT – Introducing Pipe Dream — it took nearly a week to complete and offers double the highflying action. Okemo opened its second Super Pipe on Sunday, January 12. Constructed entirely by snow, Pipe Dream is located on the Bull Run trail and features walls 18 and 1/2-feet high and measures 400 feet long.

“It’s the showboat!,” commented Ethan Mueller, of Okemo’s Mountain Operations. “It’s the perfect vantagepoint to show everyone in the base area what you’ve got.”

Okemo’s two Super Pipes require a specialized piece of grooming equipment called a Zaugg Pipe Monster to cut and maintain the massive structures. The Zaugg cuts the nightly grooming and maintenance from eight hours down to just one hour. Okemo is one of just a handful of resorts in North America to use the Zaugg Pipe Monster to cut and shape their Super Pipes (SoBe Super Pipe and Pipe Dream).

Okemo may be best known as a family-friendly resort with incredible cruising runs and trails full of fun-sized rollers, but it’s also recognized as an innovator and leader for on snow adventure. The addition of Pipe Dream further reinforces Okemo’s commitment to the freestyle movement for skiers and snowboarders.
