Truckee/Lake Tahoe, CA — Northstar-at-Tahoe will relocate its superpipe andincrease it in length by 20 percent. The new superpipe will be 400 feetlong and located on Lower Drop Off. The new location will allow views ofthe action from the deck of Northstar’s mid-mountain lodge. The resort alsoplans to add an additional jib park to The Straits, a run just above DropOff. The superpipe and terrain park will now be accessible via the Vistahigh-speed quad chair.

The relocated superpipe will have increased snowmaking and a new soundsystem for music. With the addition of two new snowguns and there-positioning of two others, Northstar plans to have its superpipe andhalfpipe open by Christmas (temperatures permitting).

Northstar-at-Tahoe is highly noted among Tahoe resorts for its freestyleterrain parks, halfpipe, superpipe, and Paw Parks, which are pint-sizedfreestyle terrain features just for kids. Northstar has also recentlyopened a snowskate park, with features including an assortment of slides andjibs like picnic tables, benches and rails.
