Truckee, Calif. — Northstar-at-Tahoe will open for winter operations this Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. with top to bottom skiing/riding on 24 trails for all ability levels.

The mountain will open five lifts, including the gondola to transport guests to mid-mountain and the Arrow Express and Comstock Express lifts to take skiers and riders all the way to the top. The Bear Paw lift will accessgentle terrain for beginners, while the terrain park on Upper Main Street will satisfy skiers/riders’ quest for freestyle terrain. This season, Northstar patrons have a lot to look forward to, thanks to the addition of the Village Express, a new high-speed quad chairlift that has replaced the Echo triple chairlift. With the new Village Express, Northstarcan transport double the guests to mid-mountain in half the time. Village Express is slated to open Saturday, Dec. 25.

Also new this season is the Village Plaza, which contains skier services such as tickets and season passes, overnight ski storage, Wi-Fi internet connection, lockers and food and beverage outlets that include a deli, espresso bar and sports bar. The Village Plaza will also feature comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, fire pit gathering areas, a barbecue and seven large flat screen televisions.

As another added convenience for guests, Northstar has added two new traffic drop-off zones at the entrance to the Village. One is designated for private vehicles and the other for buses and shuttles. Private vehicles can pullinto the drop-off area, unload their guests and ski gear with the ConSKIerge and go park the car. This will alleviate guests having to schlep their gear from the parking lots across Northstar Drive.
