Truckee/Lake Tahoe, CA — Northstar-at-Tahoe will open its new superpipe onChristmas day. and The new superpipe is 400 feet long and located on LowerDrop Off. This new location allows views of the action from the deck ofNorthstar’s mid-mountain lodge. The resort will also open an additional jibpark, with 13 new hand-built rails and fun boxes, on The Straits, a run justabove Drop Off. The superpipe and terrain park will now be accessible viathe Vista high-speed quad chair.
The relocated superpipe has increased snowmaking and a new sound system formusic. With the addition of two new snowguns and the re-positioning of twoothers, Northstar’s pipe should stay in top conditions all season long.Northstar plans to cut the superpipe nightly with its state of the art Zogpipe grooming machine.
Northstar-at-Tahoe is highly noted among Tahoe resorts for its freestyleterrain parks, halfpipe, superpipe, and Paw Parks, which are pint-sizedfreestyle terrain features just for kids. Northstar has also recentlyopened a snowskate park, with features including an assortment of slides andjibs like picnic tables, benches and rails.
