Truckee / Lake Tahoe, Calif. — Northstar-at-Tahoe opens today, Friday, November 22, for skiing and riding. The resort plans to have terrain open from the top of the mountain. The gondola will be in operation to transport guests to mid-mountain, and the Arrow and Comstock chairlifts will be running for skiing and riding.
The snowfall from a recent storm, coupled with Northstar’s state-of-the-art snowmaking system, which covers 50 percent of the resort’s groomable terrain, should ensure that the slopes are in excellent early season condition upon opening.
When Northstar opens for the winter, the resort plans to have freestyle terrain available to both skiers and snowboarders. At the very least, eight to 10 jibs and three or four terrain features will be in place. Call the snowphone at (530) 562-1330 or visit www.northstarattahoe.com for up to date information.
Northstar is located off Highway 267, six miles from the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Take the quick route and use the I-80 / Highway 267 Truckee bypass.
