Jack Frost and Big Boulder, PA—Jack Frost/Big Boulder Resorts have announced it has recruited two of the East Coast’s top terrain park designers to develop and launch the resorts new Parks and Pipes program. Shawn Orecchio and Julian Arendarski, formerly of the renowned ‘JibLab’ fabrication and park design team, will be responsible for developing the MidAtlantic’s most progressive and innovative terrain park program to date. “We are excited to welcome Shawn and Julian to Jack Frost/Big Boulder. Shawn Orecchio, the newly appointed Director of Freestyle Terrain and Product Development at Jack Frost/Big Boulder, brings over eight years of terrain park design, snowcat operation, jib fabrication and brand development experience. Orecchio will be leading the new Parks and Pipes venture, appropriately titled ‘ParkLogic’, and has a proven track record for creating terrain parks that are consistently ranked top 15 in North America. “It is with great pleasure to accept this position and most importantly it is refreshing to have the opportunity to work with such a progressive-minded management team, said Orecchio. “Our new ParkLogic program has been injected with over $1m in capital improvements including 2 new PistenBully Snowcats, 30 new jib features and a new unprecedented terrain park snowmaking system.
Joining Orecchio, will be former ‘JibLab’ co-founder, Julian Arendarski. Arendarski, a seasoned certified welder, fabricator and expert snowcat operator, will utilize his diverse experience to lead ParkLogic’s feature construction and grooming efforts. “Shawn and I have worked together for seven years and we are committed to developing the region’s most prominent terrain park program to date, said Arendarski.
Further demonstrating its commitment to Parks and Pipes, Big Boulder has announced that it will devote nearly 50% of its overall terrain to park features. The ParkLogic Crew has drafted a preliminary layout to include 30 custom ParkLogic jibs, a new ‘progression’ pipe and an innovative park design to promote learning and progression. In addition there will be a Boulder Nite Pass for only $249 valid 7 nights with no age restrictions.
