Wrightwood, CA—Buck Off, the countries largest pre-season pass celebration, returns to Mountain High in just two weeks. On September 2nd the Wrightwood resort will truck in over 80 tons of snow and give pass holders the opportunity to let loose on an assortment of rails and boxes at its East Resort. Aside from the early-season shred session, guests can stroll through the vendor village, watch live musical performances, chow down on venison burgers & deer jerky, and, new this year, witness a live rail-painting exhibition produced by Steve Lopez and frustr8.com.
The Buck Off rail jam presented by Powder & Sun is the kick-off to Mountain High’s annual season pass sale. Guests can save up to $300 “bucks on an adult, anytime season pass, and participants must have both a pass and a helmet to ride the rails. Eight features including new and existing jibs will be available, and there are separate sections for beginner and advanced riders. For those not interested in strapping in, there are plenty of other free activities. Guests can check out the latest products from Burton, Etnies, Quiksilver and more in the vendor village, plus get huge deals on snowboarding equipment from Powder & Sun. New this year, a live rail-painting exhibition produced by frustr8.com will also take place and visitors can watch Steve Lopez and other talented artists transform many of Mountain High’s rails into ridable works of art. The festival begins at 10:00am with riding from 1pm to 5pm and live music beginning at 4:30pm. Bands include Sweatshop Union, The Asphalt, Ferona Vei, and Pensativa. Guests are invited to stick around for the after party where they can quench their thirst for just a buck-a-beer.
