Wrightwood, CA – November 27, 2005: Mountain High announced today it will open Monday morning, November 28th. This marks the start of Southern California’s winter season and the ninth straight year the Wrightwood resort has been the first to open. Available terrain will consist of four trails spanning roughly 1 ? miles, and, with extensive snowmaking, resort operators hope to open new runs on an almost daily basis. Discounted ticket rates will be in effect and ticket sales will be limited to reflect the reduced terrain. More than 10 terrain features for freestyle skiers and snowboarders will also be available, both on the main run and in The Playground, the mountain’s base area jib park.

Says Karl Kapuscinski, President, “It may seem like we are opening late but we are really not that far off our seasonal average of November 17th. And long before our latest opening of December 11th. We are all very excited and looking forward to an excellent season. Some of our best years have come following later openings.”

Beginning Monday, Mountain High will be open from 8:30am to 10:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am to 10:00pm on weekends. Up to three chairlifts will be available accessing predominately beginner and intermediate terrain. Early season ticket rates will be $40 for an adult 8-hour ticket (ages 13 and up), $30 for an adult night ticket valid from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, and $20 for children (ages 7 to 12) any time. Kids six and under will be free when accompanied by a paying adult. Sales will be restricted to reflect the limited terrain so guests are advised to arrive early.

Snowmaking is expected to continue non-stop through midweek. Photos and live video can be seen at Mountain High’s website, mthigh.com.
