First Resort So Calto Open for the Sixth Year in a Row

Wrightwood, CA – November 27, 2002 – Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood officially opened for snowboarding at 5:00pm last night.

This was be the sixth year in a row that it has been the first resort to open in Southern California.

Says John McColly, Director of Marketing, “It took a little longer than expected but winter is definitely here and those cold, Santa Ana winds certainly helped. We hope to see a lot of happy guests this Thanksgiving.”

Normal operating hours will be 8:30am to 10:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am to 10:00pm on weekends. The Blue Ridge Express, high-speed quad, is now available accessing three trails which make one top-to-bottom run. The terrain is mostly intermediate and there is a small assortment of jumps, rails and fun boxes for freestyle skiers and snowboarders. With more storms in the forecast, snowmaking conditions should be exceptional and the mountain expects to offer up to six trails and three lifts by Friday. Complete food & beverage facilities and rental equipment are available as well however ski and snowboard lessons will not be offered due to the limited terrain.

Discounted ticket rates are as follows: $35.00 for an 8-hour ticket, $30.00 for a 4-hour ticket, $25.00 for a night ticket (5pm to 10pm) and $15.00 for a Childs ticket, ages seven to twelve.
