Vernon, NJ, Winter 2002-2003 Season -The only Superpipe in the region will be built at Mountain Creek early this season, bringing world-class riding to New Jersey. Making this possible is Mountain Creek’s latest acquisition – the Zaugg Pipe Monster – en route from its home in Germany.
“The Zaugg has proven to be the Superpipe shaper of choice with the capability of building smooth, long transitions and walls up to 22 feet.” said Shawn Orecchio, Terrain Park Designer and Supervisor. “These longer transitions will allow pros and amateurs alike the ability to maintain a higher rate of speed, creating the potential for bigger air.” Expect this world-class Superpipe to meet Mountain Creek’s commitment to design standards and surpass pipe enthusiasts demands sending them as high as 20 feet out of the pipe.
“Mountain Creek is setting the pace in regards to snowmaking, grooming and our parks and pipe program and plans to continue in that tradition by cutting the regions first Superpipe,” claimed Michael Wagonseil, Snowmaking and Grooming Supervisor. “Snowmaking efforts will begin in early December when we’ll begin stockpiling snow for the new pipe. The combination of our efficient snowmaking capabilities, a new Superpipe shaper and our dedicated parks and pipe crew will deliver the new Superpipe to eager riders in early January.”
