Winter Has Arrived in New Jersey!

Vernon, NJ (December 8, 2010) – It’s the true start of winter in NJ!  How do you know?  Because Mountain Creek is opening for the 2010-11 ski season this weekend!  Mountain Creek IS skiing and riding in the tri-state area, and the opening this weekend marks a tradition in the region that goes back generations.

When Mother Nature conspires with the best snowmakers in the business, amazing things can happen!  Thanks to this incredible teamwork, Mountain Creek is thrilled to announce that Vernon Base is opening with incredible conditions Saturday, December 11th as well as South Base, with a top to bottom Terrain Park with at least 10 features.

Thanks to the hard work of our snowmakers and a solid block of snowmaking temperatures, Mountain Creek’s extensive snowmaking system has put down a deep base of white across both Vernon and South peaks allowing us to kick off the season a WEEK earlier than last year. With those snow guns working overtime, guests will enjoy a total of 10 trails and a base depth from 12″, up to 24″ in some places – making for awesome early season conditions.  Vernon will be serviced by the Cabriolet Gondola and the Magic Carpet, while access at South will be provided by the South Peak Express.

First chair is at 8am for All Access Season Pass holders and 9am for everyone else.  Vernon Peak will be open Monday through Friday of next week from 9am to 9pm.  South Peak will be open from 12pm to 9pm, as scheduled throughout the season.  Season Passes are available for pick up at the Vernon Base Guest Services office or the South Guest Services Counter in the base lodge.
