With the ever increasing popularity of web based content, it was only a matter of time before a resort recognized the potential of guests who normally wouldn’t have access to camera equipment or editing software. The GoPro Video Lab will allow resort goers to purchase or rent GoPro Cameras, film their day of snowboarding or skiing, and use a resort iMac to edit the footage within Mountain Creek’s retail store in the South Lodge, The Showroom.

Being the South Lodge is at the base of Mountain Creek’s “100% Pure Park” peak, the Video Lab is a new addition to the terrain park experience. Seasoned terrain park users have been filming and editing video of park riding since terrain parks debuted, but a guest media center was never a part of resort offerings.
It is now possible to experience each facet of the freestyle world with resort equipment. Riders and skiers can document a day on the mountain and later use resort offered software to create a finalized video project. These projects can then be uploaded to online Flash video players or burned to a DVD.

If guests would rather edit at home, they can walk away with a DVD of their raw footage or purchase the SD card which was in their rental camera.
The Video Lab’s main goal is to provide access to all skiers and riders. Video and editing equipment can run thousands of dollars. Why not let someone try their hand at it before making the larger investment?
