After wrapping up a weekendfull of swimsuit wearing skiers/riders, Mount Snow is gearing up foryet another festival weekend. The Sixth Annual Mount Snow SpringReggae Festival returns to Mount Snow March 30th and 31st. Theweekend also includes the 12th Annual Snow Tire Slalom on Saturdayand the 4th Annual Dummy Downhill and an Easter Sunday celebrationcapping off the weekend on Sunday.
Friday night kicks off the Reggae Festival with a live performanceat the Snow Barn by One People. Featuring a powerful sound derivedfrom a fusion of reggae, rap, funk and soul music, One People hasprovided Reggae Festival entertainment for the past six years.
Included in the weekend festivities will be an outdoor beer gardenand barbecue on Cuzzins deck in the Main Base area. Liveentertainment begins Saturday on Cuzzins deck featuring the smoothreggae sounds of One People and Anthem. The party continues at theSnow Barn Saturday night with more live reggae music in the form ofJohn Brown’s Body. On Sunday afternoon it’s back to Cuzzins Deck foryour listening pleasure with Jamm Down.
Also on Saturday, come participate in or check out the 12th AnnualSnow Tire Slalom. Who says you can’t mountain bike in the winter?The 12th Annual Snow Tire Slalom features mountain bikers competingin a head-to-head dual slalom race on snow for cash and prizes. Thisyear’s race takes place on Countdown on the Main Face. Registrationtakes place from 8-9:30am that morning in the Main Base Lodge.
On Sunday, Mount Snow invites all to the 4th Annual Dummy Downhillcompetition. Dummy Downhill features guest and employee made “crashtest dummies” on skis or snowboards, which ride down a slope inattempt of catching “big air”. Prizes will be awarded to the mostcreative dummies and other categories. Requirements to compete:competitors must supply their own dummy (nothing alive) as well asequipment. Explosives are not allowed. This is a spectatorfavorite, so arrive early. Competition begins at 11am on LowerExhibition on the Main Face.
To cap off the weekend, celebrate Easter Sunday on the slopes.Activities include an Easter egg hunt for children all ages and aGolden Easter egg hunt for all the adults with great prizes andgiveaways. For more information on weekend events call 802-464-4191or log onto mountsnow.com.
