Mount Snow To Welcome Kelly Clark Home

Mount Snow, known for thebest parks and pipes in the east, invites all to welcome homeOlympic Gold medalist Kelly Clark to the Mount Snow Valley onSunday, March 17th. Kelly took home the United States’ first GoldMedal of the 19th Winter Olympics, held in Salt Lake City, winningthe Women’s Snowboarding Halfpipe Competition. This was the firstgold medal in US Olympic Snowboarding history.

Kelly started out as a skier at Mount Snow when she was two and gother first snowboard in third grade. She began competing at age 13 inlocal contests and has been rapidly moving up the ladder. Sheattended and graduated from Mount Snow Academy in the spring of2001. “I was extremely impressed and excited with the spirit andsupport from the community after her gold medal performance”, saysMount Snow Managing Director Stan Hansen. He goes onto say, “Wecouldn’t have asked for a better athlete to represent Mount Snow.”

The celebration kicks off with a parade beginning at 10:30am at herfamily’s restaurant TC’s on Route 100 in West Dover. It will followRoute 100 north up to the south entrance of Mount Snow where it willcontinue through the resort on “Main Street” in the Main Base Areaat 11 am.

The parade ends on Cuzzin’s Deck in the Main Base Area at 11:30 withan awards ceremony. Gifts will be presented by Mount Snow, her almamater the Mount Snow Academy and the town of West Dover.
