Less Chair Time With New High-Speed Quad– Mammoth Mountain is installing a new Doppelmayr high-speed quad chairlift to replace the Chair 5 fixed-grip 3-seater. The new lift will whisk 2,400 people per hour uphill (600 more people per hour than the old chair) and will cut ride time in half. The chair will also be better positioned to provide improved access to more terrain on one of the mountain’s highest access points and most popular locales. Sixty-eight total chairs will carry skiers up 1,066 vertical feet and a slope length of 3,160 feet.
Resort 2.0: Less Waiting, More Saving With RFID Lift Pass– Mammoth Mountain Ski Area and Axcess International Inc. have entered a partnership to install the largest RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) gate system for ski resorts in North America. By enabling preloading and reloading lift passes on the card, skiers and boarders will skip waiting in line to purchase tickets and head directly to the slopes. Access through gates will also mean less time in lift lines.
