Lincoln, NH (December 6, 1999) Loon Mountain will host the First AnnualCASA Winter Fun Games, February 12, to benefit CASA of New Hampshire. CASA(Court Appointed Special Advocates) of New Hampshire is a private,non-profit organization with over 250 volunteers who speak as advocates forabused and neglected children in the child welfare and juvenile courtsystems.
Participants who raise at least $50 in pledges will choose to accomplish anumber of activities located around the resort. There are both skiing andnon-skiing activities, such as tubing, riding snowtoys, snowshoeing,cross-country skiing, meeting a Ski Patroler to learn about safety, orriding the Gondola. A pin will be given out for each activity finished, andprizes will be given out for those who collect the most pins and pledges.
The top pledge collector will receive a free two-week rental of a LincolnLS 2000 luxury car, recently named Motor Trend’s Car of the Year. The daywill wrap up with a silent and live auction to be held in the GovernorAdams Lodge.
“We are looking forward to a long term relationship with Loon Mountain. Wehope that we can not only raise money for CASA, but also raise awarenessabout how important CASA is and what our volunteers do for kids who don’thave a voice in the court system,” said Marcia Sink, Executive Director.
Loon Mountain hopes to help CASA raise awareness and generate new volunteerrecruits from the event.
On Friday, Feb. 11, Loon will host CASA volunteer day. CASA volunteers canmeet, ski or ride, and gear up for the next day’s events. “We’re proud tobe working with CASA, an organization that does so much for so many. It’sthese kinds of associations that are very important to all of us at LoonMountain,” said Dave Anderson, Director of Marketing.
