Best late season conditions in years for the holiday weekend
Kirkwood, CA — Kirkwood Mountain Resort is opening back up for a Memorial Day Weekend spring party. The Cornice Express, high-speed quad (#6), and Solitude Chair (#5) will be in operation from 8:30am-2pm on May 24 & 25, offering low intermediate to expert level skiing and snowboarding.
Unusually late season storms have deposited over 130 inches of snow in the month of April and another 30 inches in May, ensuring extraordinary conditions for the holiday weekend. “The snow will have been setting up for weeks practically untouched,” says Kirkwood’s VP of Mountain Operations, Jeff Walters. “It looks like we should have great corn skiing for Memorial Day weekend.”
The spring party will be in full swing both Saturday and Sunday on the Village Plaza, with a Hawaiian BBQ, live music, rail jams, and snow sculpture contests. No rentals, ski school or daycare services will be available.
All 02/03 and 03/04 Kirkwood passes are valid for the weekend. Ticket prices: Adults $25, Juniors $20, Seniors & Children $10, Passholders from Other Resorts $20 (show pass at ticket window).
Stay & Ski Free packages will be available starting at $75/person per night, based on double occupancy; for more information, call Kirkwood Vacations at (800) 967-7500.
