(Thursday, January 31, 2009) Kevin Pearce was injured today while riding in the halfpipe at Park City. According to a press release issued by US Snowboarding, Kevin was transported to the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City where he is being treated. The New York Times reports that he hit the lip of the pipe just above his eye doing a double cork. According to the Times, he is being treated for “external ventricular drainage to relieve fluid buildup in the brain.” We’ll keep you posted as we find out more.
