The competition will feature Halfpipe, Snowboardcross (SBX) and Slopestyle competitions, the event will be the top regional snowboarding competition in the USSA circuit. Due to JHMR’s natural terrain and abundance of local expert snowboarding talent, an increased commitment to Snowboarding was a logical progression in the Resort’s operations.
Headlining the SBX competition will be newly signed Jackson Hole Mountain Resort sponsored snowboarder Emma Rahme. Ranked 5th in the nation in the Women’s SBX Pro Division after just her first year on the women’s tour, Emma brings fresh energy and a stacked resume to the JHMR Snowboarding Team of all men.
Born and raised in Jackson, Rahme is making her mark on the Pro Snowboarding circuit after dominating the Jr. Divisions for the past three years. At only 15, she has quickly climbed the ranks of SBX to be the youngest member of the World Cup SBX Team and has set her sites on a coveted position with the U.S. Snowboard Team at the SBX Olympic debut at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turino, Italy.
“With her talent, dedication and enthusiasm Emma is an exciting addition to our sponsored athlete team. Look out for the Jackson fifteen year old that just might blow you away.
Even with all the improvements, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort remains committed to preserving the Old West. The same old-fashioned hospitality that welcomed yesterday’s mavericks and outlaws, still welcomes today’s skiers, snowboarders and vacationers.
