Hunter, NY 11.10.03 – - Hunter Mountain’s artillery of over 1,100 snowguns were fired up early Saturday morning and have been in full gear around the clock blasting the slopes with Hunter’s renowned brand of manmade white. Snowmaking efforts have been condensed to four trails, Hellgate, Broadway, Kennedy and 5th Avenue with coverage from top to bottom. With today’s highs reaching 37 degrees at noon, snowmaking operations have been suspended.

Local weather forecasts predict warmer temperatures and a chance for rain Tuesday and Wednesday with a change to flurries on Thursday. Clear and cooler temps are expected to return Friday with a likely snowmaking restart scheduled for Thursday evening.

We are anticipating a season opening as early as Saturday, Nov. 15th weather permitting.
