Big Bear Lake, CA—On Saturday, September 16, 2006, nearly forty of snowboarding’s best jibbers will compete at Bear Mountain’s third annual Hot Dawgz & Hand Rails (HD&HR) event for $12,000 is cash prizes. HD&HR will feature an all-new setup of jibs that will become more difficult as the contest progresses.
“Because the first two HD&HR contests were very successful, this has become an established event that continues to grow each year and bring top pros from around the globe to compete on a fun and challenging setup, said Kim Hermon, Asst. Director of Marketing for Big Bear Mountain Resorts. “And not only has the competition part of HD&HR grown but so has the event itself by adding new elements, such as Winter Session, three movie premieres, a fashion show, an after-party and more! Altogether, HD&HR is a great way to get people excited about the upcoming season at Bear Mountain, added Hermon.
Riders who are confirmed to compete at this year’s HD&HR include:
Keegan Valaika, Chris Bradshaw, Johnny Miller, Mike Burton, Derek Dennison, Zack Leach, Jonas Michilot, Pat Milbery, Mike Casanova, Nate Bozung, Joe Sexton, Cory Cronk, Lucas Magoon, Erin Comstock, Spencer O’Brien, Leanne Pelosi and others. Plus, several pros will be on-site at the event to sign autographs, such as J.P. Walker, Seth Huot, Lauri Heiskari, Simon Chamberlain, Antti Autti, Risto Matilla and others.
&HR is free and open to the public; however, the snowboarding contest is for invited pros only. The event will start at about 2 p.m. with the competition beginning around 3 p.m., which will MC’d by Sal Masekela. Additionally, HD&HR will feature the premiere of Mack Dawg Productions’ new films “Follow Me Around and “People, as well as Bear Mountain’s new movie “Join Us. The event will also include a sponsor booth city showcasing the upcoming season’s product from 686, Vestal, Electric, Planet Earth, Dragon, DC, Active, Burton, Forum, Oakley, ThirtyTwo, Quiksilver, Ocean & Earth and many others. There will also be special event-only season pass rollback prices, product giveaways, live DJ’s, BBQ’s, the Beach Bar, tons of snow and more. Furthermore, HD&HR will host a benefit for Boarding for Breast Cancer.
