HOLDEN Teams Up With HERSCHEL For Limited Edition Bag Collection
Portland, OR/USA – January 9, 2012 – Holden is proud to announce our collaboration with Canadian bag company Herschel Supply Co. The Holden X Herschel collection exemplifies our joint message: “You only get out what you put in.” The line is designed to pack, hold, and organize everything needed for the journey ahead. A classic school backpack, a duffel bag, a vintage-inspired scouting bag, and a technical backcountry backpack have all been reinvented with woolen and genuine-leather materials. The Holden X Herschel collection is available at holdenouterwear.com/shop/, herschelsupply.com, and stores worldwide.
“The Holden and Herschel Supply Collection started as a connection through friends with a common interest in developing quality products,” says Jamie Cormack, co-owner of Herschel Supply. “Whether you’re just heading out for the day or hitting the road for a week, this is the perfect four-bag collection with timeless style with fine regard for detail. Fill them up and enjoy everything that lies ahead.”
Says Holden CEO Ben Pruess, “To work with Jamie [Cormack] and Lyndon [Cormack, Co-Owners of Herschel Supply] has been a real meeting of the minds. They have a personal passion for snowsports and an understanding of the active lifestyle and keen sense of style we try to inspire here at Holden. We have enjoyed watching Herschel grow as a brand. They’ve made a huge impact on the overall street-fashion world by crafting great products with timeless, modern design—much the same way Holden has done. This collection of bags shares our mutual love of the life we lead and an understanding of what it takes to go from the top of the mountain to a far away shore.”
The Holden X Herschel collection will be shown at Agenda in Long Beach, CA on Jan 5th – 6th, ISPO in Munich, Germany on Jan 29th – Feb 1st, and SIA in Denver, CO on Jan 26th – Jan 29th.
In the early 1900s, barrel-maker Peter Alexander Cormack and his wife Annie made the journey from Wick, Scotland, crossing the Atlantic to Canada at a time when the government was enticing families to immigrate through the homestead program. They were given land to farm to support the growth of the country and after seemingly endless days of travel, the couple settled in the small town of Herschel, whose population today is counted at 30 residents. Founded by brothers Jamie and Lyndon Cormack, Herschel Supply Co. adopted the name of the small town where their great grandparents homesteaded and 3 generations of their family grew up. Herschel Supply Co. is based in Vancouver, Canada and manufactures a large selection of backpacks, bags, wallets, travel goods and accessories. Our goal is to bring well-designed, practical yet functional products to the market with a fine regard for detail.
Welcome to Herschel, Enjoy your stay.
