High Cascade Snowboard Camp (HCSC) expands their International Camp program to invite their first group of American campers to experience the snowboarding culture of Japan. High Cascade already has a strong snowboarding influence in Japan with snowboard camps operating throughout the country under the HCSC brand name for the past 4 years. Operated by HCSC’s Japanese Agent “Akua Planet”, these outstanding camps sellout within days of being announced. Previously offered only to snowboarders within Japan, High Cascade has secured limited spaces at the January 2003 camp in Niigata to allow some of their American clientele to take part in this unique snowboarding experience. The trip will be led by Chorus team rider and long time HCSC Coach Tomoko Yamakoshi.
Snowboarders attending this camp will be escorted to Japan by experienced High Cascade staff and once there the group will be joined by some of their HCSC Japanese counterparts. As well as snowboarding in Niigata campers will spend time riding the slopes of Nagano, the site of the 1998 Olympics. Departing January 27th, 2003 this 10 day snowboard camp will be an entire tour package, including sightseeing to well known Japanese interest spots such as Mt Fuji; Hokusai Art Gallery; 200 year old sake factory; some of the many Japanese hot springs; famous Buddhist temples; and of course a taste of Tokyo’s world renown shopping and nightlife. Package also includes airfare from LAX, transportation once in Japan, accommodations, meals, activities, coaching, local snowboard guides and translators.
High Cascade Snowboard Camp is the world’s biggest provider of intensive snowboard coaching programs. Although best known for it’s snowboard camps at Timberline, Mt Hood each summer, which host over 1200 youth snowboarders from around the world, HCSC also holds adult camps, women’s specific camps, custom camps, the world’s only snowboard photography workshop, and spring break youth camps. HCSC International Camps are also held in New Zealand during the month of August, and have been operating for the past 2 years.
