Over the weekend of April 25-28, 2002 High Cascade Snowboard Camp inconjunction with Trevor Graves and the Brooks Institute of Photographyhosted one of the worlds first snowboard photography workshops. Theworkshop included professional instruction from the snowboard industriesleading photographers, Trevor Graves, Jon Foster, Embry Rucker, and KevinZacher.

Each day students where given on-hill demonstrations on a variety of photoshoot scenarios. Each class outlined the necessary steps in getting aprofessional snowboard photo shoot underway including, finding and buildingterrain features, working in a variety of snow conditions, and developing aworking relationship with snowboard talent.

Student film was processed each day for evening review and critique. Inaddition to learning from each others work, the evenings provided time fortopic lectures, Q&A time, and lifestyle photography practice.

The workshop was held at Mt. Hood, Oregon at both Timberline and Mt. HoodMeadows ski areas during the Vegetate Snowboard event weekend. On Sundaystudents had the opportunity to shoot photos of the Mac Dawg big airexhibition.

The workshop was a raging success, look for new workshop dates to come!
