Pelosi has been riding on the ThirtyTwo team for nearly three years and, after an impressive 2004-05 season, recently signed on also to represent etnies Girl head-to-toe, including shoes, apparel and accessories.

“Leanne is one of the toughest competitors in snowboarding today and has been killing it all season,” says Eddie Lee, etnies Girl and ThirtyTwo snow team manager. “She is a great addition to the etnies Girl team because of her ongoing contribution to the female movement of the sport. She’s always positive and committed to progressing the next generation of girls in snowboarding.”

Pelosi has had a stellar season, winning Transworld Snowboarding’s “Rookie of the Year” award, as well as a plethora of major rail jams, including: the Roxy Chicken Jam in Park City, Utah; Winter Gravity Games at Copper Mountain, Colo.; the U.S. Open at Stratton Mountain, Vt.; the McDonald’s Rail Jam and the Ripzone Rail Jam in Whistler, British Columbia; the Vans Triple Crown in Breckenridge, Colo.; the Pipe to Pipe at Mt. Hood, Ore.; and SG Magazine’s Queen of the Mountain at Mountain High, Calif. Leanne also has a featured part in “Project Misschief,” a full-length all-girls video due out this fall from Misschief Films.

When not competing or filming, Leanne keeps busy as the co-founder and co-director of MGT Snowboard Camp in Western Canada, which teaches girls freestyle tricks and helps improve their skills and confidence on the mountain. She also enjoys playing soccer, running, mountain biking, surfing, designing, reading and “nerding out on the computer.”

In addition to etnies Girl, Pelosi’s sponsors include K2 Snowboards, ThirtyTwo boots, Dragon Optical, GMC, Bonfire, MGT Snowboard Camp, Lifetime and Vital Boardshop.

Pelosi joins fellow snowboarders Alexis Waite and Janna Meyen, skateboarders Elissa Steamer and Lauren Perkins, surfers Jodie Nelson and Mary Osborne, and motocross riders Tarah Geiger and Sarah Whitmore on the etnies Girl team.
