Mt. Hood is almost always known for its late spring conditions, but DVS Snow Team Manager Ricky Melnik and Mikey Leblanc had something else in mind when they brought the team to Hood this summer.
Instead of boards and outerwear, the team came clad in shorts and life vests in preparation for a weekend of river rafting.
The team warmed it up with a casual float down the Sandy River and then took it to the danger zone by challenging the class IV rapids of the White Salmon River.
“We haven’t had the whole team in one spot for years,” says Melnik. “I wanted to do something fun and different for the crew. They’re on the snow 6 to 7 months out of the year and I figured it was time for some boardies, suds, and sunscreen.”
