Pinecrest, CA.- Dodge Ridge and DC Shoes have finalized a partnershipagreement for a new snowpark at Dodge Ridge for the 1999-2000 season. “TheDC Rhythm Zone” will be an all new, BMX and moto-style snowpark, designedfor top-to-bottom riding with multiple lines. Dodge Ridge snowparks designerJames Kelly’s idea is for “less stopping and sitting, more of a freerideexperience with longer hits, higher berms and rhythm sections, just like theSupercross tracks.” This one of a kind, motocross-inspired park is scheduledto open when the resort opens in mid-November.
DC Shoes, makers of high-performance snowboard boots, will sponsor the parkand provide equipment, team rider design & input, and event sponsorship forthe new park. Dodge Ridge’s other major park, the Santa Cruz Snowpark, isfeatured in this Fallís new Standard Films release, “TB8/Infinity”, and wasthe host site for Snowboarder Magazineís 1998 “Superpark”.
Dodge Ridge is located south of Lake Tahoe, just 30 minutes from Sonora onall-weather highway 108, and less than 2 hours from most Bay Area cities.It is the closest ski resort from San Francisco Airport and most CentralValley destinations.
