“I am really excited to work and represent Oakley snowboarding and boost lofty tricks while being thermonuclear protected. There are three things I need in life — snow, gloves and HDO protection. I am looking forward to teaming up on many wild adventures and snowboard with legends like Terje Haakonsen, said Danny Kass.
Danny grew up in New Jersey where he began his climb into snowboarding history at the age of twelve. After several years of shredding around the Mid-Atlantic States, Kass entered into the Okemo Mountain School to focus more of his time on riding some of the better pipe and park in the East. In 2001, Danny broke out into what has become one of the most successful contest streaks in snowboarding with four US Open Championships, seven Winter X Games medals and two Olympic silver medals.
This past winter, Danny fought his way back from a slow start in the US Grand Prix Circuit to qualify for the Olympics in Torino for the second time in a row. And just like in 2002, Kass took home another silver medal with back to back 1080s and his signature smooth style.
“Danny Kass wanting to join the Oakley team is a real testament to our eyewear program. Danny is one of the most impressive snowboarders of this decade, so having the opportunity to work with him at Oakley is something we are all stoked about. Danny makes a great addition to our team and we look forward to getting him involved in our program, said Oakley Sports Marketing Snowboard Manager, Chris Hotell.Danny is one of the most influential snowboarders inspiring the next generation of riders. Oakley looks forward to a long relationship with Danny, together pushing the innovation of our eyewear program.
