Mt. Crested Butte, CO — Most, if not all of Crested Butte’s high profile riders wear helmets, and they’ll now be joined by kids twelve and under participating in Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s (CBMR) ski school programs.

“By announcing our decision now, we hope to educate our guests early about this policy and heighten awareness about helmet usage among parents and children”, said Randy Barrett, CBMR’s Sr. Vice President of Resort Operations. “We support NSAA’s ‘Lid’s On Kid’s’ Campaign’, but feel strongly enough about the benefits of wearing helmets to take it one step further and mandate helmet use while kids are under our care in the Ski and Snowboard School”.

“Helmets are a great second line of defense”, said Barrett.
