Truckee, California—Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort will finish the season strong by hosting the inaugural Xbox 360"¢ Collegiate Snowboarding Open Championships April 22-23, 2006. This halfpipe competition is open to all riders who have been full-time college students within the past nine months.
Snowboarders of all levels are encouraged to register for the halfpipe event at www.thecollegiatenationals.com. Qualifiers will take place on Saturday, April 22. On Sunday, April 23, top qualifiers will battle it out in the halfpipe for the first-ever Collegiate National Snowboarding Open Championship title. Prizes include head-to-toe Burton setups, Xbox 360"¢ consoles, loads of Xbox games and other collegiate merchandise. Event sponsors are donating more than $10,000 worth of prizes.
All competitors can check in for the event at the Events Registration office in the Northstar Village from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Practice will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a brief competitor meeting at superpipe. The event begins at 11 a.m. at Northstar’s superpipe on Pipeline off the Vista Express chairlift.
Sponsored by Burton Snowboards and College Sports Television (CSTV), the event is free to all participants and entry includes a free lunch and a T-shirt. Burton National Team riders Kimmy Fasani and Wyatt Caldwell will represent their school spirit by participating in the event on behalf of their colleges.

The CSTV Collegiate Nationals presented by Xbox 360, Jack in the Box and Reno-Tahoe, America’s Adventure Place, is the first-ever college championship showcase featuring more than 1,000 of the nation’s top college athletes competing in a three-day series of high endurance sports. The CSTV Collegiate Nationals will crown National Collegiate Champions in Snowboarding, Wakeboarding, Whitewater Kayaking, Boxing, Triathlon, and Beach Volleyball.
