In order to celebrate 10 years of fun, friends, and positivity, CHILL is throwing a party – the FIRST ANNUAL RAIN CITY RAIL JAM!! BOOYAH!!
The showdown begins at 9:30am Sunday March 12 at Summit West where we’ll bust out the jams and bring on the JAM. RCRJ will feature men and women competing in pro, amateur, and grom categories for such illustrious prizes as a Whistler vacation package, Jet Blue tickets, new Burton gear, local shop product and the coveted Golden Boot Award. Entry fee is $15 for ams and $20 for pros.
We have great music by a TBA wheels of steel maestro, great booths from local shops and companies, a great raffle with some serious booty, great sponsors (a la Burton, Summit at Snoqualmie, Boarderline, Snowcon, Zumiez, Sobe, Jones Soda, Frequency TSJ, and Northwave, etc), great fireworks from the ninja snowboarding masters on the rails, and a great community of fellow snowboarders out to make a difference in this world.
THE CHILL PROGRAM has been in SEATTLE for 10 years! In that time we have helped over 1700 at-risk youth learn to shred the gnar by giving them everything they need: lift tickets, instruction, bus transportation, head-to-toe gear and high fives. Chill serves youth from diverse backgrounds who face challenging issues at home and in their communities such as abuse, addiction and gang violence. By bringing these kids up to the mountains and teaching them to snowboard, they learn respect, humility, persistence, the awards of accomplishment, gain self-confidence, receive a much broader perspective on life, and get some free time to be who they are, kids.
