Wrightwood, CA – March 15, 2000 – The $10,000 Pro/Am Triple Air competition makes its way to Mountain High Resort for the second year on Sunday, March 26th, 2000

Sponsored by Chevy Trucks, Active Ride Shop and M3 Snowboards, this specialty event is one of the biggest of the season drawing dozensof professional snowboarders from across the nation and the world. Lastyear, representatives from both France and Brazil were on hand only tobe sent home by local boy, Neil Drake, from Big Bear.

This season’sTriple Air will consist of two enormous table hits, each approximately40 to 50 feet long, and two giant wave hits of which competitors willpick one. “I designed it this way to accommodate for both regular andgoofy riding styles,” says Keith Pfahler, Mountain High’s terrainbuilder.

Pfahler has been designing terrain parks for over eight yearsand most recently built the Swatch World BoarderCross at Mountain Highand the Gravity Games in Mammoth. “This is going to be a pretty coreevent,” says Keith. “It gets back to the roots of snowboarding and willput the fun back in competition.”

In Triple Air competition, riders are judged on amplitude, style, difficulty and landing. Professionals will be fighting for cash awardstotaling $5,000 while amateurs will compete for prizes equaling the sameamount from companies such as M3 Snowboards, GT Bicycles, 686Enterprises Clothing, Mongoose All Terrain Boards and much more. After the event, both participants and spectators are invited to enjoy live music from six bands on the www.spinrecords.com stage.
