The Chamjam has its origins in the BURGS Boss desBosses, which began 11 years ago as a renegade mogulskiing competition between the ski resorts of ChamonixMt. Blanc and Val D’Isère. The Chamjam 2000 was the biggest and bestyet. Several thousand spectators watched the trueChamjam ethos as an 18 year old, local kid beat offthe assembled professional skiers to win the big airtitle and an invitation to the ESPN X-Games. In thesnowboard disciplines local hero and Rossignolprofessional, Tony Roos took the title. The Boss desBosses was taken home by the team from Zermatt fromunder the noses of Chamonix. The Freesports Festivalincluded teams from 3 other resorts (Verbier, Zermattand Meribel), with individual competitors coming fromacross Europe & the Globe. As always the eventattracted large crowds from the French, Swiss andItalian Alps. Music was provided by Glyda, starringJessie Wood, the son of Ronnie Wood, from the RollingStones. Chamjam regulars Pressure Drop returned forthe third year to entertain crowds on and off themountain.
