Big Bear Lake, Calif., Monday, November 28, 2005 – Freezing temperatures have created ideal snowmaking conditions with cold air and very low humidity in the Big Bear area, ensuring a perfect opening for the 2005/2006 winter season! Snow Summit Mountain Resort (Snow Summit) will open tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. Around-the-clock snowmaking began on Saturday, November 26th at 5:30 p.m. and will continue as conditions permit.

Snow Summit will kick off operations with Miracle Mile 100% open from top to bottom. This run is serviced by the East Mountain Express high-speed detachable quad chairlift with terrain for intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders. The Bear Bottom Beginner’s Area will also be open, and isserviced by chair 8 for first-time beginners and low intermediate skiers and snowboarders.

Snow Summit will be offering special early season lift ticket rates of $35 for adults, $30 for young adults (ages 13-21) and $10 for children (ages 7-12). As always, children 6 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Reservations for the weekend are recommended and easy to make, simply call 909-866-5841.

Lessons will be available at Snow Summit for all ages and abilities. Ski and snowboard rental shops will be open, as well as all retail shops and the Summit Inn restaurant.

Opening day for Bear Mountain has not yet been determined, but snowmaking will continue whenever possible to provide snow coverage to all areas of the resort. Current weather and snowmaking conditions are available by calling 800-BEAR-MTN.

Season passes for the 2005/2006 season are on sale through December 4th and provide the best deal offered by Big Bear Mountain Resorts.
