BURLINGTON, VT (September 1, 2011) With serious cases of sick airness being reported around the globe, Burton Snowboards announced it is in full prep mode to host the world premiere of its new snowboard film, Standing Sideways, where else but in the 'mile high' city of Denver, Colorado on September 15th.
The very first showing of Burton's new movie will take place in Denver at the legendary Ogden Theatre, located at 935 E. Colfax Avenue. It will be a jam-packed night of snowboarding's best, starting with a red carpet lounge arrival of Burton riders and film cast members Jussi Oksanen, Mark Sollors, Keegan Valaika, Jeremy Jones, Ethan Deiss, Mikey Rencz, Kazuhiro Kokubo, Danny Davis, Jack Mitrani, Mark McMorris, Kevin Pearce and Zak Hale as well as Burton Founder and CEO Jake Burton and some surprise special guests.
Doors will then open to more than 1,500 snowboarders, shop staff, dealers and friends who will all witness the movie for the first time. And even before the show starts, there will be a ton going on at the Ogden including rider autographs starting at 7:30 pm, a 'sick airness' photo booth, free giveaways, videos, and live music by DJ Largechild.
"I think I speak for all the guys on the team when I say how stoked we are to be a part of this movie," said Burton pro rider Jeremy Jones. "It's sick that Burton wanted to do a film again that doesn't take itself too seriously. More than anything else, this movie just really makes you want to go snowboarding. Definitely check it out when it comes your way."
Following the inaugural screening of Standing Sideways, all guests 21+ are invited to attend Burton's official movie after-party, taking place at Casselman's Bar, located at 2620 Walnut Street in Denver. Admission is free and party doors open at 9:00 pm on a first-come, first-serve basis. A killer lineup of live bands will perform including EVS, Sammy T and Sunsquabi and Broken Tongues. More giveaways, the sick airness photo booth and live antics are also on deck for Casselman's, so it's not a party to be missed.
