It might be August, and there is no snow in the hills, but it’s time to get your shred on.
This coming Saturday, August 6th, the Rome Snowboard Design Syndicate and The Ski Rack are teaming up to host the first annual Burlington Summer Rail Jam. From 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., riders will get to butter, frontboard and press a funbox at the Ski Rack’s warehouse, on 377 Pine St. in Burlington, Vermont.
There will be an open format jam to be held from 4-6 p.m., followed by a half-hour final round for the top ten shredders of the open round. Out of the finals, the top three riders will be named, with the winner getting a certificate to the 2006 Rome deck of their choice. For all riders and onlookers, there will be a product toss of various free schwag thrown out by the Rome crew.
This event is free and open to the public. Riders will drop in off a flat bed trailer to a 16-foot flat box, courtesy of Sugarbush Resort. The Rome and Ski Rack crews will be using a front end loader and snow from two local ice rinks to ensure that there will be enough snow to last through the event.
So, even though your shred gear has been growing mold in the closet since spring, get your sun block, Chug can wrap, and come on out to the Ski Rack warehouse at 377 Pine St., Burlington, VT this Saturday from 4-7 p.m. to get involved in the areas only summer rail jam.
