Donner Summit, CA—Boreal Mountain Resort announced today that itsmarquee terrain park feature, the superpipe, will open for snowboarding Monday, January 14. Located on Race Course Run andaccessible via the Accelerator High Speed Quad chairlift, BorealMountain Resort currently offers Tahoe’s only superpipe for winter06/07.
Boreal has gained a reputation for providing a superpipe with spot-onspecs. 450′ in length, 18.5′ high walls, with a consistent slope gradeof 15 degrees qualify Boreal’s superpipe as an Olympic-caliber terrainpark feature. U.S. Olympic Snowboard Team member Andy Finch has alsobeen eagerly awaiting Boreal’s superpipe. “I’m fired up to get in thefirst pipe of the season at Boreal,” he said. Finch’s specialty isthe superpipe.
New for winter 2007, Boreal installed additional lighting specificallyaround the superpipe. Boreal will now offer the only night superpipe inthe U.S. Groomed twice daily, riders can expect thissignature feature be in top shape from 9am to 9pm.
