Boreal Mountain Resort will open for the winter 2004-2005 ski and snowboard season Thursday, October 21. With lifts opening at an early 8:29 am, Boreal retains its claim to fame for being California’s first ski and snowboard resort open for business.

Because of the significantly large snow storm that walloped the Tahoe area Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, Boreal currently has a three-foot base of completely natural snow.

“Without question, this is the best opening-day snowpack in years! Boreal will offer 36 inches of new snow, one lift scheduled to operate from 8:29am to 4pm, and terrain features out and ready to ride, said Jody Churich, Boreal Mountain Resort’s Director of Marketing. “Come out tomorrow morning for Boreal’s opening day of the winter ski/board season, again California’s first resort to open for the winter season.

Opening day’s lift ticket rates will be reduced: $22 for adults and $10 for kids. The resort plans to open additional lifts as conditions permit, for the weekend.

As Northern California’s closest ski resort with unbeatable prices, Boreal offers 380 acres of lift accessible terrain, more than eight different terrain parks, sledding, equipment rentals, lessons, and a Kids Center. For more information call 530.426.3666 x185 or visit www.rideboreal.com.
