Congratulations to Blake Wilson who won a week at Woodward at Copper for submitting his epic tale of woe in answer to the question: How much is your summer going to suck? For taking the trouble to write about his troubles, Blake will be living large at Woodward at Copper’s facilities during a week long overnight session including lodging, meals, lift tickets, coaching and after-riding activities like skating the legendary “Barn.”

Woodward at Copper and TransWorld SNOWboarding would like to thank everyone who took the time to submit their sad summer plans. As much as we would like to pick everyone we only had one spot to giveaway.

Now grab some tissue and read Blake’s submission.

I can remember everything about my first day strapping in. Catching my toe edge never tasted so sweet. I was immediately hooked. That was three years ago. I’m Blake Wilson sixteen years old, and snowboarding is my passion! I live in Ogden Utah. The Greatest snow on earth! ehh maybe not this year. I have a serious girlfriend and a serious love for adventure.  Well, I’m not writing this to complain about the snow, but why my summers going to suck! Last October my pops had gotten a new job offer just a couple minutes from home. My dads job had gotten to be so stressful, he couldn’t pass it up. He tried getting the new job set up. But the guy who had given the offer became sketchy. He was hard to reach, and my dad just wanted to talk business. While all this was going on, something else came up. It was a new job offer out of Phoenix Arizona. The more my dad looked into it, and as much as he wanted to stay in Utah. He had to take the job. My life had been turned up side down from there on. My Wonderful Mom, outgoing Dad, and crazy brothers that I get a major kick out off, now live in Waddle Arizona. I miss them everyday. I live with my grandparents to finish out the school year, and more important the season. When the summer begins, so does my journey to hell. I’m moving to Arizona for the summer. To be away from everything and everyone I have grown to know and love. Ill be there working as much as I possibly can making as much as I can. Putting up with the god-awful heat, cactuses, and dirt. To return to Utah the next season and be a snowboard bum once again. I’ll sleep in a tent if I have to. I have tried to keep this positive. So I didn’t sound like a whining punk. But to be honest this situation absolutely sucks. It strikes deep. Rarely do I try and enter in these giveaways. But when I saw this, I couldn’t get myself to pass this up. I seriously need this week of skating and snowboarding, just pure fun and ease at mind.

Thanks Transworld and Woodward! I pray to see that beautiful place soon.
