BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. – Big Bear Mountain Resort opened last week with over two feet of snow. This week the resort is touting more snow and more runs opening daily. Special lift ticket price for an adult, all-day is $29 and children under 12 ride for free Monday through Friday, non-holiday. “With the current weather conditions, we are able to pump out fresh man-made snow almost every night,” said Greg Ralph, director of marketing. “As long as the conditions stay cold and dry, our snowmaking crew is out on the hill. Snow conditions are packed powder with grooming every night on our main runs. We currently are open with 11 runs and three lifts.” The mountain opens at 8:30 a.m. on Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Last chair up is at 4 p.m. With Thanksgiving around the corner, times will be adjusted to an 8 a.m. opening on holiday days. “This weekend expect to see more trails and the possible opening of our Quiksilver terrain park,” said Ralph. Showtime, one of the many advanced trails, opened this week. For those advanced riders, railslides, funboxes and tabletops are laid out on Claim Jumper and Gold Meadow.
