We just arrived in sunny Aspen, CO, getting set for the return of The Meeting. The annual gathering of snowsports films, filmmakers, athletes, media and more was greeted with snowcapped peaks along Aspen Highlands (we’re SO freakin’ close…), with everyone hyped for tonight’s opening event, NESPA. Kicking off the event on a mellower tone, NESPA invites amateur and local crews to submit their best cuts of the winter fun, keeping it light before the long, long Aspen nights come on.
Aspen/Snowmass once again plays host to the masses, with the Wheeler Opera House providing the arena in which 14 of the years best snow films will showcase their goods. The next-level design and versatility of TransWorld SNOWboarding’s In Color , the mind-melting creativity for Gigi and Volcom’s 9191, the hardcore Euro progression of Pirate’s Hooked, the third-dimensional theatrics of TGR’s Light The Wick, the all-star line-up of Standard’s The Storming, the f—k ‘em all grit and hollywood production of Forum’s F’ IT, and the jaw-dropping, life-altering lines of TGR and Jeremy Jones’ DEEPER—they’re ALL here.
Best part? After a tripped evening watching more snow porn that you can handle, knock on over to Belly Up and party you face away with DJ Muggs and Bone Thugs ‘N Harmony. Le-git. ~ Adam Hawes
