Arapahoe Basin ski area officials are excited to announce the ski area’s opening day for the 2003-04 ski season. A-Basin will be opening Thursday, October 30, 2003 with one lift and one run. The Exhibition chair will open to the public at 9:00 a.m. Skiers and riders can look forward to a 12 – 20 inch base on the High Noon run.

The snowmaking crew and groomers have taken advantage of the recent cold temperatures. “The ski area will open on its earliest date in history with a quality product from midway to the base area,” said Alan Henceroth, Director of Mountain Operations at Arapahoe Basin.

KSMT will be on site with a live remote, music and prize give-aways. The ski area will be giving away souvenir water bottles to the first 200 visitors. Ski area personnel will be hosting an opening day party at the Dillon Dam Brewery Thursday night from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. with a live radio remote and prizes.

Adult lift tickets on opening day will be $35, youth tickets age 15 – 19 will be $32 and child tickets age 6-14 will be $15. Ski and board rentals, food and beverage, 6th Alley bar and retail shop will be available and open. Ski school lessons will be available when the Molly Hogan Beginner Center opens in November.
