Toronto, February 1, 2000 — Get ready for two days of incredible action, when the slopes of Blue Mountain, Collingwood transform into Molson Export Air Raid 2000 on Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4. North America’s best snowboarders and freeskiers will take to the air in the Pro-Am Halfpipe competition and Invitational Big Air and Quarter Pipe competitions featuring a $20,000 cash purse. The event will culminate on Saturday afternoon with the Invitational Big Air Show and concert featuring Landspeed/Nettwerk recording artists – Gob.
MOLSON EXPORT AIR RAID 2000 COMPETITIVE ACTIVITIES: The Molson Export Air Raid 2000 will feature a 150-metre long Halfpipe that both pro and amateur snowboarders will compete in a unique Jam format that maximizes the number of runs for competitors and creates and excellent show for spectators. The action will peak on Saturday afternoon with the Invitational Big Air contest where a 50 foot table top jump and a massive 18-foot high quarter-pipe provide the setting for a pre-selected field of professional Snowboarders and Freeskiers to throw down jumps as big as 100 feet. MOLSON EXPORT AIR RAID 2000 ENTERTAINMENT: Air Raid 2000 will feature Canada’s own Gob. Fresh off the 1999 Vans Warped Tour and Edgefest ’99, Gob has earned a reputation as one of the hardest hitting, hardest working four-pieces in rock ‘n’ roll. The band crosses all boundaries, gaining fans wherever they go! The on-stage action will be supported by top DJ’s spinning throughout the weekend’s events. Gob will play during the final Big Air competition action on Saturday afternoon – concert begins at 3:00 p.m.
