Gaylord, MI – November 6, 2009 -The Otsego Ski Club will host some of the top US riders as well as the Japanese, Australian and New Zealand snowboard teams this season. They will be practicing through December and January on the only 22-foot pipe east of the Rockies. Members and guests can "shred" alongside some of the worlds best riders in a perfectly manicured pipe, maintained by Planet Snow Design's Pat Malendoski.
Working closely with Planet, Otsego has made significant improvements to the terrain, snowmaking and equipment, making the dream of hosting the Midwest's only 22-foot pipe a reality. Set to open in late December, Otsego's members and guests will have access to the 22-footer throughout the entire season.
The 22-foot monsterpipe isn't the only thing for Otsego's skiers and snowboarders. With three separate terrain parks and a full-length boarder cross course, the O-Park has something fun for every rider. In addition to a batch of new rails and boxes, Otsego , with planets help, has acquired an indoor skate bowl that will be open all season.
Lots of exciting things are happening at Otsego this year. Michigan skiers and snowboarders should seize the opportunity to ride the best freestyle terrain alongside some of the world's most talented athletes.
