The photos in this year’s Photo Annual were taken by many of the best snowboard photographers on the planet—but they didn’t gain their skills overnight. The elite spend years learning and shooting countless images, and with the fast-growing ranks of amateur photography, breaking into the field isn’t getting any easier. That being said, we want to give our readers a leg up on the competition. Submit your photos for the world to see in this year’s Your Turn Photo Contest, for the chance to win a session at High Cascade Snowboard Camp’s Photo Workshop! The ultimate kick-start for any aspiring photographer, you’ll have the chance to develop your skills with coaching from the same professionals whose work is featured in the 2011 TransWorld Photo Annual.
To enter, upload your best photos to TWSnow.com. We’ll be announcing five themes with the following upload tags throughout the winter: Backyard Contest, Sequence Contest, Night Contest, Spring Contest, and Industrial Contest. Category winners will have their photos published on the homepage and also win a stacked photo prize pack. The overall champ will be chosen by the HCSC Photo Workshop staff and awarded the trip to Photo Camp!
** Plus, this top photog will receive his or her first official TransWorld assignment—documenting their week at camp for TWSnow.com! **
Get After It: Backyard Contest
The first theme is Backyard Contest—homegrown features and snaps, right from your own hood. Just upload your best domestic shot and tag the image “Backyard Contest,” making sure to enter the rider’s name, location, and photographer info. Heck, even throw in a fancy caption if you like!
The first winner will be announced on TWSnow.com and the TransWorld SNOWboarding Facebook page (facebook.com/TWSnow) on Monday, January 16, 2010.
