CLS-6

Colors: black, blue/white/green, red/white/blue, white/camel

Sizes: 7-13 (7.5-10.5)

Price: $240

Focusing on style and aesthetics, Celsius’ top boot, the CLS-6, gets tech with the streamline look and feel of a skate shoe. Whether it’s for spins or pow slashes, the boot packs plenty of technology, including a hidden midsole made with i4 Impact Gel, a three-part double-lasted outsole with added traction for hiking, custom moldable insoles, and an adjustable heel hold. The CLS-6 focuses on custom fit with an ultra-light Thermo Liner, which molds to your feet over time to ensure a perfect fit. A foam-injected tongue also adds comfort without weight, and the internal center pull-lace system locks you in tight for quick energy transfers from foot to boot. Uni-sex for now, Celsius isn’t selective with who gets to wear these boots.

Sizes: 7-13 (7.5-11.5)

Price: $450

Supreme

Colors: black/chrome

Sizes: 4-10 (6.5-8.5)

Price: $330

Burton really brings it this season with its top men’s tech boot, the SL9, and the women’s equivalent, the Supreme. You want a boot that can internally regulate foot temperature? How about getting in and out in a flash? And a zonal lacing system that allows you to cinch differently over your arch and around your calf? These boots have all that and more. An articulated cuff keeps everything tight with two separate flex zones that avoid any uneven flex or buckling and provide independent movement and uncompromised heel hold. For men, Burton hasn’t forgotten how your heels feel after overshooting a few too many landings. The SL9 sole packs Airframe-an air pocket on steroids in the sole with vastly improved response and durability compared to traditional air pocket design.

A boot designed to be comfortable after hiking and riding all day, the TLS was made for getting around. It’s flexible enough to bone out your tweaks and yet still supportive enough to keep you stable on the run-ins. With two different lacing system options-the new TLS Lacing System and the Standard Lacing System-you can choose your level of tech. Lock and load with the TLS’ locking mechanism and avoid having to re-tighten mid sesh. For women, the Rival boot demonstrates the less is more theory. With standard lacing on the outside and DLS liner lacing on the inside, this boot will make your feet happy. The Rival doesn’t have too much tech to get confused about-it’s just a boot that keeps you riding all day.

Fargo Focus

Colors: black/white, white/camo

Sizes: 7-15 (7.5-11.5)

Price: $279

Omni Focus

Colors: black/violet

Sizes: 5-11 (6.5-9.5)

Price: $269

If you’re all about adjustability, the Fargo Focus and the Omni Focus are where you wanna be. With two different BOA coils in place, these boots allow you to adjust your lace pressure in three zones: the forefoot, the instep, and the upper region. The trick is the use of two BOA dials, one mounted on the tongue to control the instep and upper region of the boot, and one mounted on the lateral side of the boot to adjust the instep and forefoot. Heat moldable liners paired with an EVA midsole stack with a forefoot gel pad to provide maximum foot stability, lightweight cushioning, and shock absorption. Even with all the cushioning and protective gels in place, the overall weight of the outsoles have been reduced by 30 percent-all of the tech, none of the bulk. Most imptantly, these boots can save your life. Equipped with RECCO avalanche rescue reflectors, these boots will help get you found in worst-case scenarios.

Allegiance

Color: black

Sizes: 7-13 (8.5-10.5)

Price: $299

Women’s Judge

Colors: black, white

Sizes: 5-10 (7.5-9.5)

Price: $249

Ridden by BJ Leines and Travis Rice, the Allegiance takes care of the comfort and heel lift problems that most riders face. The two BOA dials (the Multi-Zone adjustment ability) ensure the right amount of tension on the right part of your foot. Speedy in and out with BOA means less time diddling with laces and more time riding. Inflatable liners customize the fit even more, and a lateral beam keeps the boot’s overall structural properties solid, with a natural flex and tons of support. Also, DC’s new injected EVA outsole reduces overall outsole weight and bulk by 40 percent in comparison with other boots, and a RECCO avalanche rescue reflector enables rapid rider location in on-snow emergencies. There’s all this, plus the same toecap gel and built-in heat pocket DC’s been known for. The women’s Judge features all of the above technology, but only one BOA coil to keep things snug. Also, the Judge features cold temperature rubber-when the temperature falls to 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower, the CTR compound hardens to form traction-enhancing spikes. If that won’t keep you hiking, we’re not sure what will.

Women’s Stampede

Forum has perfected its boots with the introduction of the T.O.T.O.L system, using the same general technical standards to produce both their men’s and women’s boots for this season. By doing away with removable layers, the boots now boast a much smaller overall volume and weight, giving these all-mountain/freestyle boots a completely new feel. Weight-conscious mid and outsoles also contribute to reducing boot bulk, arriving at a more freestyle-friendly boot. Asymmetrical flex has been added to the men’s boots, allowing for lateral support and a preferred freestyle flex. Also, Forum shrunk the volume and footprint by one full size-good news for bigger footed riders. The ladies will be stoked on the articulating cuff, which offers a smoother flexing shell and thus a more secure, supportive fit.
