Brewster, NY – Spring, 1997 – For 1997-98, Raichle is reintroducing the SB121 into the U.S. market. The SB121 is the best selling hard snowboard boot of all time. It was introduced in 1986 and carried in the U.S. until 1992. It’s crampon compatible, multi functional Vibram rubber sole, as well as it’s compatibility with all hard bindings, make it a dual purpose model for heavy duty back country to on-slope riding. The key reason for it’s reintroduction is the ever increasing popularity of back country riding in the United States. Key features include progressive flexing for direct transfer from foot to board, and optimum heel stability from the three buckle Microsystem.
The SB225 Nagano Limited Edition is being introduced in commemoration of the 1998 Winter Olympics which will be held in Nagano, Japan. It will be the first time snowboarders will have the opportunity to compete for an Olympic medal. The SB225 Nagano, based on the SB225, will be a limited edition of 2000 pairs worldwide. It comes as a set with the Intec Proflex step-in binding. Key features include an interchangeable hard and soft Flexon ribbed tongue; a lateral flex mechanism for easy adjustment; forward lean adjustment with five basic positions; and a quick release walk/ride mode. The boot will also be compatible with the new Snowpro step-in step-out system. The Nagano will be available with a conventional liner or a Thermoflex, 100% custom fit, liner.
Other models in the Raichle line include the SB225, SB224, SB223, SB222 and the SB220.
The SB225 is a high performance, four buckle boot with the choice of a newly designed conventional or a 100% custom fit Thermoflex innerboot. The SB224 and 223 now feature four buckles for better adjustment. The SB224 is available with both a conventional and a Thermoflex liner. The three buckle SB222 is designed especially for women and juniors and is available with a conventional liner. The SB220 is a hard boot designed specifically for juniors.
